UK Covid Inquiry: Hourglass Feedback
Research commissioned by Hourglass revealed the shocking data that 2.7 million people were affected by elder abuse in the UK, yet it’s abuse that is rarely discussed. The unique Hourglass 24/7 helpline, has also seen a significant increase in calls from those affected by abuse and neglect, with an increase of over 90% during August 2022 alone.
“Tackling the abuse of older people will take collaborations across the private, public and third sector and this partnership with Just Group is an excellent example. We are delighted to be working with this forward-thinking company and look forward to developing a close relationship with the team. It is an ideal way of launching Safer Ageing Week and we are excited by the year ahead.”
‘We’re delighted to embark on a new charity partnership with Hourglass. Their mission is simple - to stop the harm and abuse of older people. This is in perfect alignment with Just’s purpose of helping people achieve a better later life. We look forward to supporting Hourglass in making a real difference to the lives of older people in need’
