NEW PATRON FOR HOURGLASS
Hourglass, the only UK-wide charity dedicated to ending the abuse, harm, exploitation and neglect of older people, is pleased to announce that Baroness Hughes of Stretford has agreed to support the charity as its Patron for England.
Baroness Hughes brings extensive experience from across public service and academia. She previously served as Deputy Mayor of Greater Manchester, with responsibility for policing, crime, criminal justice and fire, and has held senior academic roles focused on social policy and public service reform. Throughout her career, she has been a strong advocate for safeguarding, equality and protecting people at risk.
As Patron for England, Baroness Hughes will support Hourglass’s work to raise awareness of abuse of older people and to strengthen policy, practice and accountability across England.
